The Critics' Week has just unveiled its poster for the Cannes Film Festival 2026, as it prepares to announce its full selection very soon. Mark your calendars for May 13 to 21, 2026, to experience the 65th edition of this renowned parallel competition.

On the poster for the Critics’ Week, Manon Clavel’s character from Alexe Poukine’s Kika appears to surrender herself. Her comforting hand on her partner’s back, played by Makita Samba, highlights their close bond shared in a moment of mutual trust. This sense of confidence embodies what Critics’ Week stands for: taking a chance on a filmmaker’s fresh talent. It also reflects the voices of writers and creators sharing their debut works with us.
Ava Cahen, the General Delegate of the Critics’ Week, has unveiled the first and second feature films officially selected. In addition, the program features 13 short films, with 10 competing in the official selection and 3 showcased in special screenings. Moreover, four shorts will be screened as part of the invitation from the Morelia International Film Festival in Mexico.
This year, the Spanish filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer Rodrigo Sorogoyen will take on the role of jury president at the 64th Critics’ Week. He will be joined by Moroccan journalist Jihane Bougrine, French-Canadian director of photography Josée Deshaies, Indonesian producer Yulia Evina Bhara, and Oscar-winning British actor Daniel Kaluuya.
Together, their task will be to screen all the selected films and award the AMI Paris Grand Prize of the Critic’s Week for the best feature film, the French Touch Jury Prize, the Louis Roederer Foundation Revelation Award to the best actor or actress, and the Leitz Ciné Discovery Award for the best short film.
