It's been a long time coming: initially scheduled for 2018, Tunic was finally released on March 16, 2022 on PC, Mac, Xbox Series and Xbox One. This indie action-adventure game was created by Canadian Andrew Shouldice, supported by publisher Finji. After a long wait, players on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5 will finally be able to enjoy this game too: Tunic is available on these consoles from September 27, 2022.
At the Game Awards 2021, a trailer revealed a vast world, a character as cute as he is valiant, and a game mechanic similar to Zelda. The player takes on the role of a little fox, and must traverse various dungeons and areas of exploration, solving small puzzles.
The geometric, colorful and childlike graphics plunge us into a medieval fantasy world. Battles should punctuate the quest of our fox, who seems to possess several weapons and gadgets to enable him to move and defend himself.
The key word in this game is curiosity. You'll need to explore these different environments from top to bottom to find all the elements you need for your adventure. There's no speed-run here: your stamina gauge quickly runs out if you try to cross the map too quickly.
In the Youtube description of the trailer, Finji reveals the game's synopsis: " Explore a land filled with lost legends, ancient powers and ferocious monsters in Tunic, an isometric action game where you follow a little fox on a great adventure. Stranded on a mysterious beach, armed only with your curiosity, you'll have to battle colossal beasts, collect strange and powerful items and uncover long-forgotten secrets. "
