Play Sorbonne 2026: the free festival dedicated to video games and tabletop gaming in Paris

For the 10th edition, the student association of Sorbonne Université dedicated to video games, organizes its Play Sorbonne festival, on the Pierre et Marie Curie campus, in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, on Saturday, September 19, 2026. A multitude of geek culture enthusiasts will gather around video game culture, tabletop gaming, and video games to introduce this vast universe to the curious.

The aim of this festival, open to everyone whether you’re a hardcore gamer or not? To give independent developers and board game authors a free showcases. No shop or on-site sales are offered; only pay-what-you-want goodies and meals at 5 euros each are on the menu, alongside free-to-play games, arcade machines, talks, e-sports tournaments, and cosplay contests. Participants are invited to watch and listen, but also to dive into a wide range of activities.

Admission is free, but be sure to register in advance so you don't miss a thing!

The festival lineup

• 150 exhibitors, indie video games, board game designers and associations
• An on-stage role-playing game in the auditorium, with the return of former guests such as Mister MV, FibreTigre, Le SadPanda, alongside newcomers like Pressea and Angle Droit
• Larger tournaments: Smash Ultimate, Mario Kart, TFT, Osu! and Tetri.IO, for around 500 participants expected
• Two new exhibitions: "Informatissage”, which explores the links between textile techniques and computer imagery, from the Jacquard loom to pixel art / “Pourquoi les jeux vidéo nous captivent ?”
• Conferences hosted by industry professionals (program to come)
• A brand-new scavenger hunt to explore the festival in a different way
