Hogwarts Legacy: The Legacy of Hogwarts, the forthcoming game based on the Harry Potter franchise, has been showing off numerous trailers over the past few months, revealing both the story and the gameplay of this eagerly-awaited game. And among the things players are most looking forward to, and shown in the various trailers, are the spells they'll be able to cast! What are these spells? Let's find out!
Harry Potter fans, get out your wands! Hogwarts Legacy: L'Héritage de Poudlard continues to show its face on social networks, whether through new trailers or teasers, revealing a little more of the game's secrets, while continuing to maintain the mystery of its content. Story, combat, gameplay... Enough to please gamers who are eagerly awaiting this game... But what they're really looking forward to is being able to cast spells!
And these spells are particularly eagerly awaited, as previous Harry Potter games have already allowed us to cast a few of them, not without frustration as to their choice and effects. But Hogwarts Legacy: The Hogwarts Legacy intends to rectify this with a much wider range of spells, meeting the expectations - and above all the demands - of players.
What are these spells? In the absence of an official, comprehensive list, we've come up with our own list of known spells, discovered through trailers and social networking posts... Revelio!
Accio - A spell of attraction, allowing you to draw enemies towards you for better combat. You can also interact with the environment, drawing bridges, walls and other objects towards you to unlock access or reveal secrets.
Depulso - Accio's spell of banishment and counter-spell enables you to violently repel your enemies.
Lumos - Light spell to illuminate dark areas, dispel illusions and repel Devil's Nets.
Nox - Contresort de Lumos, extinguishes the light at the end of your wand.
Expelliarmus - Disarming spell, enables you to disarm your enemies, whether they have a wand or other weapon in hand.
Wingardium Leviosa - Levitation spell, allows you to levitate your enemies or objects (abbreviated to "Leviosa" in one of the trailers).
Revelio - Spell to reveal what has been hidden by a spell, used here to reveal secrets, but also the position of chests and other hiding places in the game area.
Reparo - Repair spell, used to repair objects, in this case bridges, as seen in the trailers, but also to reveal passages.
Avada Kedavra - Death Spell, kills your enemy instantly. Please note that all three Unforgivable Spells (Avada Kedavra, Imperio and Endoloris) have been confirmed by Avalanche Studios.
Endoloris - A Doloris spell that tortures your enemies, inflicting unbearable pain.
Imperio - Imperium spell, lets you control an enemy and make him do what you want. In the game, it lets you turn enemies against themselves.
Disillusionment Spell - Allows you to camouflage yourself by making yourself invisible. Used in the game to infiltrate and attack enemies stealthily, or to open certain chests.
Stupefix - Stupefixion spell, neutralizes enemies by knocking them unconscious.
Protego - Shield Charm, generates a force field around its user and, when cast at the right moment, deflects spells cast against you.
Oppugno - A spell to use an object to attack, in this case weapons or explosive barrels.
Descendo - Spell to make an opponent or objects fall or fall.
Diffindo - A cutting spell, used to slice through objects. In Hogwarts Legacy, the spell is used to break the Shield Charm, among other things.
Confringo - Explosive spell, generates an explosion once the target is touched.
Incendio - An incendiary spell that lets you shoot flames from your wand. Allows you to repel Inferi.
Glacius - A spell to freeze your enemies. This was confirmed in a short clip posted on the game's official Instagram page.
Ridikkulus - Allows you to conjure up an Epouventard. The spell was teased on the pages of a spell book by the game's developers.
Rictusempra - Tickle spell, causes an irresistible urge to laugh. The spell was teased on the pages of a spell book by the game's developers.
All that's left is to wait for official confirmation for those who haven't yet! Note also that some spells can be used in combo with others. You can learn most spells as you go, but some will be taught to you by the friends you make along the way.
