Attention Marvel fans! On Tuesday, July 11, Cliffhanger Games and Electronic Arts announced on Twitter (and in a press release) that they were working on a Black Panther video game. As you may have gathered, Cliffhanger Games will develop the game, whileElectronic Arts (which also owns the studio) will publish it. This is not the first superhero game from this publisher, who is also working on anIron Man opus, still in its infancy.

This project marks the 57th anniversary of the creation of the Black Panther comic book, an iconic hero in the Marvel universe. The studio in charge of the project is headed by Kevin Stephens and is made up of seasoned developers who have contributed to renowned action-adventure titles such as Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, God of War, Halo and Call of Duty.

Cliffhanger Games is committed to providing players with an authentic and definitive experience of the Black Panther character, offering a bespoke narrative and giving players more control over the story than in any other story-driven video game. Wakanda, the superhero's homeland, will be at the heart of the game, constituting a "sandbox" rich in possibilities for Black Panther fans and those wishing to explore this unique world.

" We want our game to allow players to experience what it's like to be worthy of the mantle of Black Panther in a unique, story-driven way. And we want Cliffhanger Games to empower every member of our team as we collaborate to bring this incredible world to life," said Kevin Stephens, Cliffhanger Games director.

Black Panther, an open-world third-person single-player title, is still in the early stages of development. So we'll have to wait a good while longer before we can walk the streets of Wakanda as the superhero. And in the meantime, you can always dive back into the Black Panther DLC in Marvel's Avengers. So get ready!
