Synopsis of Split Fiction:

" Experienceunforgettable moments as you journey through the different worlds of Split Fiction, a cooperative adventure game from the studio behind It Takes Two that pushes the boundaries of the genre. Play cooperatively locally, or via the Friend Pass."

From the creators of the acclaimed It Takes Two game comes Split Fiction, a new adventure for two. This time, we find ourselves in the shoes of two writers, immersed in their own stories. To save their creations from those who want to steal them, the two protagonists will have to work hand in hand to escape the many dangers that threaten them, and return to the real world.

Players take turns exploring fantasy and science-fiction worlds . They must learn to master the mechanics of each new tableau to advance - without leaving their teammate behind! Good news: with the Friend Pass, you can play with two people in a single game, by connecting online.

Our Review of Split Fiction:

We had the chance to try this game in local co-op, and unfortunately, the visuals leave a bit to be desired. The cutscenes seem incomplete, lacking depth or shadowing, which affects their overall polish. However, the gameplay itself is quite enjoyable and visually solid. Overall, it’s just okay.

As for the story, the beginning feels a little rushed, quickly covering the plot and objectives. But the rest of the narrative, especially the witty dialogues, really shine. The two main characters, Mio and Zoe, complement each other beautifully—they’re not clichés, and their personalities and approaches to the adventure are refreshingly well-balanced.

Regarding gameplay, Split Fiction introduces inventive and engaging mechanics that change slightly depending on the world or level. Simply put, you won’t get bored... quite the opposite—you’ll be laughing a lot! Some levels are downright bizarre, making you question what crazy ideas you’ve signed up for. For example, one stage has you controlling two pigs — one with a spring that lets it jump high, the other farting rainbows (yes, really!), launching them across the map. Later, it even has you play as two sausages, famously culminating with you grilling yourself on a barbecue to top a hot dog... You get the idea.

The game also demands plenty of communication, which is its greatest strength. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys playing with a partner, siblings, kids, or friends. All that’s left is for you to form your own opinion!
