The investigative adventure game is due for release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.

The gameplay trailer for Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile :

Synopsis of Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile:

" In Death on the Nile, a peaceful cruise is disrupted by a gruesome crime. Fortunately, the famous detective Hercule Poirot is on board. At the same time, the hunt for a murderer leads private detective Jane Royce from London to Majorca, via New York and finally to Egypt. The two investigations converge in Abu Simbel. This dynamic duo of investigators will have to solve a complex case full of twists and turns. But there's more to the game's story than the book itself, with its many mysteries and plot twists that will surprise even the most ardent fans of Agatha Christie's work. "

In turn, players slip into the shoes ofHercule Poirot, then Jane Royce. Two puzzles to solve in parallel, two cases that meet on the Nile. The story unfolds through different eyes, enriching the scenario... Or to conceal the truth a little longer.

Microids takes us back to the 70s, to discover Cairo, London, the Nile and Majorca... Different landscapes and characters take us on an unprecedented adventure into the past.

Fans of Agatha Christie are not necessarily better off in this game. Microids has chosen to extend the story a little, with new events taking place after the conclusion of the book.

The gameplay trailer shows various mechanics and phases: you'll have to observe, search for clues, listen in on conversations, spy on suspects without getting caught... There are also some classic puzzles and object manipulations. To solve the case, you'll need to choose the right words during your interrogations, use evidence wisely, and not forget a single piece of this mysterious puzzle.

Our opinion on Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile:

We tested this game on PS5.

Here we are, embarking on a newHercule Poirot adventure, this time on the Nile. Microids has slightly modified this classic story, transposing it to the 1970s.

Ephants, disco music and flashy colors: from the very first moments of the game, you're immersed in a fun, festive atmosphere, which of course hides some dark secrets. This change of era speeds up the events of Agatha Christie's book and adds pace to the plot, without completely altering the original story.

We take on the role of the famous Hercule Poirot, still adorned with his moustache and ego: Microids' character is faithful to the writer's creation. We love this detective as much as we hate him, for his manners, his remarks and his unshakeable self-confidence. He is accompanied by a new character: detective Jane Royce. The two characters alternate from chapter to chapter, exploring different parts of the plot through the two investigators.

The mechanics of the game, however, remain the same on both sides: you observe the scene for clues, listen to conversations and question suspects, and solve puzzles using your mind map. If you're familiar with Microids games, you should find familiar mechanics, notably those used in the previous Agatha Christie adaptation.

All gameplay elements are easy to master and get to grips with. There are no complicated key combinations here: this is first and foremost a puzzle game, where you have to get your little grey cells working. As a result, the game is fairly slow-paced: you have to take the time to talk to everyone, look around, and connect the dots to reconstruct reality.

If you've already read or seen an adaptation of Death on the Nile, the game's scenario shouldn't surprise you too much. The story doesn't really deviate from Agatha Christie's work, so the main puzzle is easily solved. However, do take the time to explore each chapter: you'll find little puzzles that allow you to collect items. These little extra games break up the repetitive gameplay and provide an interesting challenge.

As far as graphics are concerned, don't expect realistic, highly polished images. Without being ugly, the graphics remain below those of other studios in 2025. Character animations are a little stiff, but puzzle solving is fluid and backgrounds are well filled.

Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile is therefore an unambitious game, but one that fulfills its mission. You spend your time sorting out the real from the fake, investigating like a real detective, and exploring a colorful 1970s Egypt. A fun adventure for fans of puzzle games.

Investigate, collect clues, confront suspects and find the culprits in this colorful and intriguing adventure game, to be released in autumn 2025 on PC and game consoles. Detectives, grab your magnifying glasses!
