Clap de lumière bleue over the Grand Palais: colette makes its comeback ! From September 30 to October 9, 2025, in the midst of ParisFashion Week, The Virgil Abloh Archive™ reactivates the cult concept store imagined by Colette Roussaux and her daughter Sarah Andelman, as part of the exhibition Virgil Abloh: The Codes.
The installation? A hybrid capsule, at once a living work of art and an ephemeral boutique, recreating the legendary first floor of the Rue Saint-Honoré. A veritable cultural crossroads, colette was the address where fashion, art, design and music intersected, a unique spot that brought the greatest designers closer to the general public. Closed in 2017, the cult store has since fed the nostalgia of its loyal followers, who have become true colette-addicts. This effervescent spirit is reborn here with exclusive creations signed by Virgil Abloh's close collaborators - Babylon, BEEN TRILL, BSTROY, Cactus Plant Flea Market, Futura Laboratories, L'Art de L'Automobile, SP5DER, Stray Rats, Travis Scott and many others. A line-up worthy of a collector's showcase!
Among the limited-edition must-haves: the reissue of Braun's BC02 alarm clock revisited by Virgil Abloh™, and the French translation of Larry Warsh's "Abloh-isms", a digest of his most influential quotes. A selection of articles will also be available online.
Shannon Abloh sums up the spirit: "Virgil had a deep admiration for colette and firmly believed in the use of commercial spaces as platforms for cultural expression." A statement that echoes the pioneering role of Sarah Andelman, who first put Virgil's third t-shirt on sale back in 2008.
The mythical Parisian concept store has regained its aura: a cult space, redesigned to celebrate the visionary energy and legacy of Virgil Abloh.
Since its closure in 2017, fashion had been in mourning, tirelessly clamoring for its reopening. Founded by Colette Roussaux and her daughter Sarah Andelman, this temple to fashion on rue Saint-Honoré left its mark on an entire generation.
