The SPA remains as necessary as ever, as animals keep being abandoned. To mark its 180th anniversary, the Société Protectrice des Animaux launched its first solidarity run last year, and it returns for a second edition on Sunday, May 31, 2026, inviting participants to support this worthy cause by running a few kilometres, accompanied by their faithful four‑legged friends if they wish, in the heart of the Saint-Cloud National Domain.
All year long, the SPA helps abandoned and mistreated animals, but on that day you can help save them as well by fundraising, with each participant enabling the association to care for a shelter animal. Three races are offered to suit your level: a 10 km solo race for the most athletic, a 5 km canicross to run with your dog, or a 2 x 5 km relay for those who want to run with friends, as a couple, or as a family.
To participate, you must pay the registration fee of 15 euros, then raise funds to reach a fundraising goal for the animals in the care of the association, with every donation going to the charity. Last year, 200,000 euros were raised! Thus, if you don’t want to run, you can support the animal cause by contributing to a fundraiser.
To set the mood, a solidarity village will allow both animals and people to enjoy sporty activities, children's workshops, sessions on animal welfare, and even dog massages, partner stalls, a food and beverage offering, and a closing concert, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
