The Fontainebleau forest is a paradise for hikers, climbers and, in short, for adventure and nature lovers, just a stone's throw from Paris. A favorite spot for outdoor sports enthusiasts, this great forest can also be crossed, with an itinerary that takes you to the most beautiful spots in this natural area.
Imagined by Helloways and the Others, the route proudly announces its 52-kilometer length, and a whole lot of vertical drop (1,200 meters positive and just as much negative). Taking in part of the25 moguls route, the Denecourt path, the Cassepot rock, the Piat pond, the village of Barbizon, the elephant rock, the small village of Milly-la-Forêt... And many other points of interest, the Trans'Bleausarde - as its name suggests - crosses the Fontainebleau forest from east to west. Departure is from Fontainebleau station, and arrival is in Maisse, from the town's RER D station.
Note, however: while hiking is a pursuit accessible to everyone, the route proves particularly demanding. A solid level of physical fitness is essential; plan to set out with two to three liters of water per person, wear footwear suited to hiking, and bring your food (at least for the day). The Trans'Bleausarde is not an officially marked trail with its own signage: therefore, having the route is indispensable the route itself!
