A rugby show at the... Philharmonie? Yes, that's the idea of Jacques Azam, an illustrator and cartoonist who, with his team of musicians, tells the story of the famous sport of the oval ball.

On the occasion of the Rugby World Cup 2023, discover rugby in music! The Philharmonie presents Une petite histoire jazz du rugby, a musical tale in praise of rugby, recounting the origins, rules and values of the most popular team sport in Paris at the end of 2023 (World Cup obliges).

In an uncharted galaxy, a small planet is home to people who are learning to join forces and rally around a sport involving the oval ball. So, for an hour, immerse yourself in the fantastic world of rugby, told by illustrator Jacques Azam in collaboration with author and editor Agnès Barber. They will be accompanied by several musical instruments: saxophone (Thomas de Pourquery), piano (Andy Emler) and the voice of actress Anne-Elodie Sorlin. Between jazz improvisations, vocal narration and graphic drawings, the tale will take you on a journey, but above all it's likely to fill young and old with wonder around a beautiful story of team sport.

Two performances will take place on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 11am to 3pm. Count on €15 per adult and €12 per child under 15 to discover the most poetic of rugby tales, at the Philharmonie de Paris!
