On June 7, 1986, Queen kicked off their impressive"The Magic Tour" in Sweden. The tour, which included a stop at Paris's Hippodrome de Vincennes on June 14, was the British band's biggest ever, but also the last with the incomparable Freddie Mercury at the helm.
At the end of this major European tour, Queen decided to release several recordings, including the legendary"Live at Wembley '86", as well as"Live in Budapest". It's this concert, recorded on July 27, 1986 in the Hungarian capital, that France 4 invites you to (re)discover on prime time television this Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 pm.
The concert, held at Budapest's Népstadion in front of 80,000 spectators, remains an incredible musical moment for Queen and fans alike. It was an opportunity to rediscover the unique voice and boundless energy of the charismatic Freddie Mercury, surrounded by his faithful sidekicks Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon.
