The 37 participants inEurovision 2025 are in the starting-blocks. The 69th edition of the song contest is fast approaching. Following Nemo' s victory last year, the event will take place in Basel, Switzerland, with two semi-finals scheduled for May 13 and 15, followed by the grand final on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
For the time being, the first 6 qualifying countries are already known. They are France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Great Britain (the famous 'Big-5' countries), as well as Switzerland, this year's host country. But which countries will join them? The suspense remains. In the meantime, predictions are rife, and a number of candidates are considered favourites, including KAJ, the Swedish candidate, and JJ, the Austrian representative. But there's another candidate in the bookmakers' Top 5. It's Claude, representing the Netherlands this year.
On April 18, 2025, the Dutch candidate is ranked 5th in the Eurovision Song Contest, with a 5% chance of winning the final, according to the bookmakers. According to the bookmakers, Claude has a 47% chance of making the Top 5 and a 67% chance of making the Top 10. In other news, the video clip for his song " C'est la vie " is the 3rd most viewed on Youtube.
So, who is Claude? Claude's full name is Claude Kiambe, and he hails from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He arrived in the Netherlands at the age of 9. Since then, the artist has already made a name for himself, taking part in The Voice Kids in 2019. In 2022, he released his single"Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot)", which reached number one in the Nederlandse Top 40.
His career was then truly launched, to the point of being named"Best Artist of the Year" by Qmusic. In 2024, Claude released his first opus,"Parler Français".
In fact, it was a French song that Claude chose to try and win over the Eurovision jury and viewers. Entitled " C'est la vie ", the song mixes the language of Molière and the language of Shakespeare. So, will this choice make the difference? Will Claude make it through to the semi-finals and stand on the podium on May 17? The answer is coming soon!
