Eurovision 2025: how are the votes cast?

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place this spring, with the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday May 17. So, which candidate will accumulate the most points and emerge victorious from this 2025 edition? By the way, do you know how the voting takes place and how those famous points are awarded? We'll tell you.

Sweden: 12 points. Spain: 10 points. Belgium: 8 points. Every year,Eurovision arouses the curiosity of many viewers, eager to find out who the overall winner will be. Last year, Switzerland's Nemo won the grand final, with a total of 591 points. The year before, Sweden's Loreen took first place, with a total of 583 points, including 340 from the jury (1st) and 243 from the public (2nd).

But do you know how the voting works at the Eurovision Song Contest? Since 2026, each artist has been awarded a total of 50% points by the national juries and 50% by the public at the Grand Final.

After the performances of the 26 finalists, the spokespersons of the 37 participating countries revealed the results of their national juries. At this point, the famous phrase " 12 points go to..." can be heard.) And so begins a long wait, for artists and audiences alike.

Once the 37 spokespersons have finished, theEurovision presenters take over and announce the results of the public vote, live on stage. It's at the end of this voting phase, and by adding up the two votes (jury and public), that the overallEurovision winner is known! This means that an artist ranked first by the jury vote can drop down the rankings if the public vote doesn't follow suit, and vice versa. It all comes down to the viewers' votes, which can really reverse the trend.

Please note that no viewer can vote for his or her own country's song. Public voting for the grand final opens with the first song.

So who will the French jury and public vote for? And which countries will award 12 points to Louane and France this year? See you on May 17 to find out!
