With just hours to go before the grand final, the pressure is mounting on the contestants of this 70th edition of Eurovision. This spring, the Eurovision Song Contest officially kicked off on May 12 with the first semi-final, followed by the second semi-final on May 14. Now, we finally know the 25 finalist countries that will battle it out in Vienna, Austria, this Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the grand final.
So, does France have a shot at winning the 70th Eurovision edition? Their contestant, Monroe, can she follow in JJ’s footsteps, with the song “Regarde !”? While Monroe had been sitting in the top five favorites just a few days ago according to the bookmakers, she has since slipped to 9th place, just behind Bulgaria. Far ahead, the field is led by the Australian entrant, the Australian, the Greek contestant, and the Finnish duo, the clear favorite this year.
Monroe, who will be touring churches and cathedrals across France this year, is now credited with only a 2% chance of victory, down from 11% recorded on April 26. She also has a 28% shot at breaking into the Top 5.
