This week, Eurovision fans have their eyes glued to Vienna. It’s in the Austrian capital that this year’s 70th edition of the famed song contest is taking place.
On the France side, many are hoping that Monroe, the French representative, will break the unlucky streak and clinch this 2026 edition of the Eurovision, 49 years after Marie Myriam's victory—the last time France triumphed.
While awaiting the final tally, here come the semifinals. On May 12, ten countries already advanced in the first phase. On May 14, 2026, 15 new contenders are vying for a spot in the second semifinal. This Thursday, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Romania, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Armenia, Switzerland, Cyprus, Latvia, Denmark, Australia, Ukraine, Albania, Malta, and Norway will compete for a place in the final. Only 10 will make it through. So, who are the favorites among the bookmakers? Which countries could qualify and join the 15 others already booked for the grand final?
The Danish contender Søren Torpegaard Lund tops the bookmakers' favorites, with a 96% chance of making the final. Right behind at 95%, bettors place Delta Goodrem , the Australian representative. Next up is Alexandra Căpitănescu, carrying Romania's flag, also at 95%. Following them, Ukraine with Leléka (94%) and Dara for Bulgaria (83%).
However, five countries will unfortunately miss out on a spot in the final this Thursday night. Bookmakers say the unlucky ones are Latvia, Switzerland, Armenia, Luxembourg and Azerbaijan.
Join us on May 14 to find out whether the bookmakers were right and which 10 countries will advance from this second Eurovision semi-final. As for the automatic qualifiers, the representatives from France, Austria and the United Kingdom will perform their songs live this Thursday evening.
