An extraordinary musical evening awaits you at the Grand Rex next spring. On Wednesday, March 24, 2027, the famed Paris venue on the Grands Boulevards opens its doors to two legends of African music. For one night only, the Grand Rex welcomes Angélique Kidjo and Youssou Ndour for the "Chimes of Freedom Tour"!

Fans are buzzing that the renowned Beninese singer and the Senegalese artist have some delightful surprises in store for their fans for the occasion.
We recall that Angélique Kidjo launched her artistic career in 1980. Since then, the artist has released more than twenty albums. The singer is also known for recording a raft of songs for films, TV series and documentaries, and for her numerous collaborations (Tina Turner, Herbie Hancock, Johnny Clegg...). Proof of her renown: Angélique Kidjo is a five-time Grammy winner, and a laureate of the Charles Cros Academy. She also performed at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics on July 23, 2021.
For his part, Youssou Ndour is nicknamed the "little prince of Dakar," a label tied to his remarkably early start in music in his hometown of Dakar, Senegal. Co-founder in 1979 of the group l’Étoile de Dakar, and later of Super Étoile in 1981, Youssou Ndour has carved out a name for himself and has graced the world’s biggest stages thanks to a musical style that blends traditional rhythms with modern instruments.
On March 24, Angélique Kidjo and Youssou Ndour will share the same stage at the Grand Rex for a truly exceptional moment. The two stars are visibly buzzing about this joint tour. “The voice and the music of Youssou have always been a source of inspiration for me. We used to sing one or two songs together on stage, and it was always magical. Being able to craft a full program as a duo is an extraordinary opportunity,” declared Angélique Kidjo in a press release. “I’m very excited to be hitting the road with my sister Angélique Kidjo. We’ve dreamed of this for a long time, but our schedules hadn’t allowed it until now. It’s finally happening, and we’ll kick off this run of concerts in March 2027,” added Youssou Ndour.
