Agnes Obel in concert at the Olympia in Paris in September 2027

Six years after "Myopia", Agnes Obel returns with a new fifth studio album, titled "The Meaning of Flowers". A fresh record that will once again take the Danish artist on the road. Scheduled for 2027, this 23-date European and UK tour will pause in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Italy and Spain. In France, three shows are announced. First up is at the Olympia in Paris on Thursday, 23 September 2027. Agnes Obel then heads to Toulouse on 17 October and to Lyon on 6 November 2027.

Agnes Obel returns with her fifth studio album

"The Meaning of Flowers", is the title of Agnes Obel's new album, due out on September 18, 2026. Described as "an album that extends the Danish artist's singular universe, now based in Berlin", the record unfolds twelve tracks, including the striking single "Laymelli". With this release, the singer and musician continues "her exploration of music that defies genres, at the crossroads of classical, chamber-pop and experimentation", according to the material.

With The Meaning of Flowers, Agnes Obel once again showcases her wide-ranging talents. A writer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Obel has written, recorded, arranged and produced the entire album herself in her Berlin studio. She sings, naturally, sometimes deliberately transposed in pitch, but she also plays piano, keyboards and synthesizers. For the rest, the artist invited a host of musicians to join her on violin, viola, cello, bass, lap steel, harmonium, flute, saxophone, percussion and backing vocals.
