Paris: Place du Châtelet transformed into a theater square for over a month

The Festival de la Place is the not-to-be-missed artistic event of the autumn of 2023 in Paris. Imagine dance, strolls, installations, music, workshops and introductions to urban sports... all to be discovered from September 9 to October 15, 2023, mainly on the Place du Châtelet, but also at the Théâtre du Châtelet, and at theEspace Cardin.

What's more, for more than a month, the famous Place du Châtelet will be transformed into the Place des Théâtres , offering a series of shows (free and paying) and a grand wake, to open up the theater to all, artists and spectators alike, and to celebrate the forthcoming reopening of the Théâtre de la Ville, renamed Théâtre Sarah Bernhardt.

• SEPTEMBER 9 AND 10, 2023 : THE PLACE DU CHÂTELET REINVENTS ITSELF
  Théâtre de la Ville invites Hofesh Shechter to create an outdoor version of Contemporary Dance 2.0, while Saïdo Lehlouh reinvents Apaches on Place du Châtelet with 100 professional and amateur dancers. Meanwhile, Ambra Senatore imagines a choreographic balade.
  
  
• SEPTEMBER 15 - 17, 2023: TO CELEBRATE THE NEW AGE OF THE THEATRE DE LA VILLE
  Join us at Les Sablons, Place du Châtelet and Espace Cardin as we bring artists together around ecological themes. On the program? An installation by Jordi Galí and a stroll by Tidiani D'Diaye on Place du Châtelet.
  
  
• SEPTEMBER 18 - 24, 2023: PLACE À L'AFRIQUE
  Come to Place du Châtelet, Théâtre du Châtelet and Espace Cardin for a week of shows, debates, meetings, literature and DJs, featuring artists from all disciplines, from Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, South Africa and Chad.
  
  
• OCTOBER 1 - 15, 2023: PLACE À LA JEUNESSE
  The Théâtre de la Ville-Sarah Bernhardt will open its doors to children, schools and families on Wednesday October 4 and Thursday October 5 with Akram Khan's Chotto Desh, a free show for everyone up to the age of 14.
  
  
• OCTOBER 7 - 8, 2023 : THE BIG VEILLÉE
  From Saturday, October 7 at 6pm to Sunday, October 8 at 6pm, 24 hours of non-stop sharing, meeting and mingling in the new Théâtre de la Ville-Sarah Bernhardt spaces during a big wake featuring over a hundred artists!
