Boléro - hommage à Maurice Ravel combines dance and music to help you rediscover this ballet music. Organized by FranceConcert, the show toured in 2016 and was a resounding success.
Maurice Ravel'sBoléro, an emblematic piece in the history of music and dance, is one of the most famous French works in the world. Boléro was born when Ravel was preparing for a four-month tour of the United States and Canada, and was asked by his friend and patron Ida Rubinstein to compose a "ballet of Spanish inspiration". Attracted by the idea of dance, Ravel chose the bolero, a traditional Andalusian dance, giving birth to an exceptional work that can now be rediscovered at the Palais des Congrès!
Maurice Ravel, who died in 1937, was a world-renowned French composer, often associated with the Impressionist movement, although he always rejected this label. He is best known for his orchestral and piano works, including the famous Bolero, premiered in 1928. The musician left an indelible mark on twentieth-century music! Boléro - hommage à Maurice Ravel runs from February 15 to 16, 2025.
