Forget the traditional seats and balconies of the Palais Garnier; the Louvre Pyramid takes center stage! On the weekend of April 18-19, 2026, eight dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet along with five of its étoile dancers will transform the iconic translucent monument into a dance stage. They will mingle with spectators during two unforgettable evenings, at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. It’s a fleeting performance with a front-row view — beneath this glass masterpiece, dance becomes a living sculpture, and every movement resonates with pure emotion.
For the exhibition "Michel-Ange Rodin. Living Bodies", visitors will have the chance to explore some of the most iconic duos from the Opera's repertoire. The event also features a new, exclusive creation by Yvon Demol, a dancer with the Ballet, interacting with the artworks. Here, gestures sculpt space, and space, in turn, inspires movement—offering an immersive experience where art and dance become one.
Dorothée Gilbert makes her mark in Le Parc by Angelin Preljocaj, while Guillaume Diop steps into a rare, intimate face-to-face with the audience as he performs Erik Satie’s Gnossiennes for the first time. The performance is accompanied by the talented musicians of the Paris Opera Orchestra.
Back in the 1970s, the Louvre was already hosting stars — in 1973, Noureev transformed the Cour Carrée into a swan lake. Today, that tradition makes a stunning return beneath the Pyramid. And to keep the wonder alive, visitors will have the rare chance to tour the exhibition after the museum's closing hours, allowing them to continue admiring these bodies… this time frozen in marble.
Under the Pyramid, dance rises beautifully, bodies come alive with light, and the Louvre transforms into a vibrant stage.
