A French actor, Franck Desmedt won the Molière for Best Supporting Actor in 2018 for the play Adieu monsieur Haffmann . Since 2016, the actor has been portraying great figures of the 20th century. For one of his roles, Romain Gary in La promesse de l'aube, he received the Prix Charles Oulmont and the Prix du Brigadier, and was nominated for the Molière for Best One-Man Show. This new play also earned him a nomination for the Molières 2024, to be held on May 6 .
The one-man show promises a poetic retelling of the life of Joseph Kessel. Writer, reporter, adventurer and Resistance fighter, Joseph Kessel was an observer of the world and witnessed both world wars in the 20th century. Of Lithuanian origin, the writer joined the air force during the First World War, and obtained French nationality. After publishing several novels, he returned to journalism in 1939, then joined the Resistance. He was elected to the Académie française in 1962.
