This Saturday, October 7, 2017, scoot into Rosa Parks Station. For Nuit Blanche 2017, Jeremy Deller and Celicia Bnegolea present the fate of Bom Bom. This Japanese dancer with a passion for dancehall decides to travel to Jamaica and participate in a contest; will she make a fool of herself or will she manage to appropriate a culture that is not her own?

For this Nuit Blanche 2017 dedicated to the Collective Work and "being together", Charlotte Laubard has invited the dancer Cecilia Bengolea and the British artist Jeremy Deller to take possession of the Rosa Parks Station.

Together, they imagined the character of Bom Bom, a Japanese woman who dreams of dancing, particularly dancehall, a sensual dance invented on the other side of the globe, in Jamaica. Bom Bom is determined, but can she overcome prejudice and be better than the Jamaican dancers?

This story told in video pushes us to go beyond preconceptions and applaud cultural appropriation.
