From South Africa to Egypt, via Nigeria and Senegal, African fashion is as rich and varied as the many cultures that coexist on the continent. And when we compare traditional craftsmanship and contemporary creations, we discover even more treasures that will delight fashion lovers.
, the Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Museum , offersus a brief overview of fashion in Africa through a unique exhibition presented from March 31 to July 12, 2026. The Africa Fashion exhibition highlights the African creative scene, its diversity, and its history.
Designed by the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, this exhibition offers us an artistic and cultural perspective on fashion in Africa. With more than 50 countries, the African continent is a real melting pot and fertile ground for creators and designers. The exhibition highlights contemporary stylists and designers from different African countries, introducing us to young artists with futuristic and innovative ideas.
At the same time, the Quai Branly Museum is presenting a collection of clothing and accessories that recall the traditional skills of different African cultures. Past and present thus engage in dialogue through textiles, patterns, techniques, and more.
This exhibition highlights the new codes of fashion, where aesthetics, tradition, personal stories, and sustainable techniques coexist. Different cultures shine through these clothes, accessories, and jewelry. We see as many connections as we do differences between countries and designers, as many references to history as we do visions of the future of fashion.
The Quai Branly Museum has an exciting exhibition in store for us in spring 2026!
