Street Art Avenue, the Canal Saint-Denis urban art trail, reveals for its 7th season, more than 30 works and 15 new ones this year from June 14, 2023, along the 5km Canal Saint-Denis, running from Paris la Villette to Saint-Denis via Aubervilliers.

Calling all street art fans: it's time to take a stroll! Street Art Avenue, which runs along the Canal Saint-Denis, is an unmissable artistic expedition. Launched in 2016 by the Plaine Commune Grand Paris Tourist Office, the event now features over 30 majestic works that can be admired on foot or by bike. This year, 15 new works enrich the urban landscape, stretching over 5km from Paris La Villette to the Stade de France.

The event is going from strength to strength this year, with 5 times as many painted surfaces as last year. Mathieu Hanotin, President of Plaine Commune and Mayor of Saint-Denis, tells us that this is partly due to the desire to make Seine-Saint-Denis the center of gravity for urban cultures.

The international and local artists involved in the 2023 edition of Street Art Avenue have transformed walls, freeway pillars, factory silos and even street furniture into works of art, inviting us to reappropriate urban space. We'll also have the opportunity to cruise the canal on cruises organized by Seine-Saint-Denis Tourisme, to admire the creations.

Beyond its aesthetic aspect, Street Art Avenue also rhymes with integration. For the first time, the Régie de quartier de Saint-Denis (Saint-Denis local authority) has been asked to carry out integration projects. Employees on vocational reintegration schemes prepared the walls for the works.

We really recommend this free stroll, which allows you to immerse yourself in a space where art and culture intertwine with the urban and ecological landscape. The Aubervilliers-based L'Ecluse association runs educational workcamps and participatory workshops all along the avenue.
