If you're on the hunt for an original street art exhibition and free of charge, don't miss the Rotondo showcase at the Galerie Le Cabinet d'Amateur, located on rue de la Forge Royale in the 11th arrondissement. This collective exhibition brings together around forty urban artists around a rather unusual concept: every piece displayed is crafted on a circular support. An artistic constraint that’s set to shake up our expectations and turn heads among visitors.
The Cabinet d'Amateur, a gallery that has become a must-visit for fans of Parisian urban art, envisioned this unique project by inviting renowned figures from the street-art scene to take over the circular format. Among the forty or so artists featured, you'll find celebrated names such as Levalet, famous for his poetic collages adorning Parisian streets, M.Chat, the iconic yellow feline that has been climbing city walls for years, as well as Mosko and Agrume. Alongside these established names, emerging talents like Abys, Codex Urbanus, Nadège Dauvergne, and Veks Van Hillik help create a diverse and captivating selection.
The artists taking part in Rotondo:
The circular format demands a completely different approach to composition. Where rectangles and squares provide clear reference points with their angles and axes, the circle challenges artists to rethink their methods entirely. This constraint transforms into a creative playground: how to incorporate a character, a message, or an urban scene into a space with no beginning or end? Visitors will get to see how each artist has embraced this shape, from reimagined Renaissance tondos to contemporary medallions.
The variety of artistic worlds on display promises a truly captivating journey. From the meticulous craftsmanship of Lison Bombay to the vibrant creations of Fayalu, alongside the graphic compositions of Nast404 and the poetic pieces by Jérôme Rasto, each artwork engages in a meaningful dialogue while asserting its own unique voice. This initial section of Rotondo showcases a wide range of techniques: painting, collage, silk-screen printing, stencil art—each contributing to the rich tapestry that defines street art.
The exhibition doesn't stop there. In January 2026, Le Cabinet d'Amateur will present a second installment of Rotondo focused on artistic ceramics. From January 8 to 11, visitors will have the chance to explore unique pieces where the round form is expressed through the material. This extension adds a new layer to the project, creating a dialogue between the fleeting nature of street art and the enduring precision of ceramics. The official opening will be on Thursday, January 8, until 9 p.m., with the exhibition opening to the public Tuesday through Sunday, from 2 to 7 p.m.
The exhibition is open from Thursday, December 18th through Sunday, December 21st, and then again on Saturday, December 27th, and Sunday, December 28th, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is free, inviting all curious visitors to explore this artistic showcase without any restrictions. The gallery is located at 12 Rue de la Forge Royale, just a short walk from Place de la Bastille and the Roquette neighborhood, an area teeming with galleries and artists’ workshops.
In short, Rotondo presents a fantastic opportunity to see how artists accustomed to transforming urban spaces are reinventing their craft by embracing a less traditional format. This exhibition breaks away from conventional routes and is well worth a visit for anyone who appreciates the creativity and boldness of contemporary street art.
