Virgil Abloh, former artistic director of Louis Vuitton and adored the world over for his style halfway between couture and streetwear, tragically passed away in November 2021, leaving the fashion world in mourning. Much more than a stylist, Abloh was also an acclaimed DJ and talented designer.
Today, Galerie kreo honors this exceptional artist with a free exhibition entitled"VIRGIL ABLOH: ECHOSYSTEMS", on view in the 6th arrondissement of Paris from September 21 to November 1, 2023.
In 2020, Abloh had already exhibited at Galerie kreo, presenting works in concrete and perforated mirrors, reflecting his dual role as designer and architect.
This year, the Parisian gallery, the only one to represent the designer, unveils his latest unpublished creations alongside works by artists who have influenced his world. These include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Marcel Duchamp and Erwan Bouroullec, as well as a series of snapshots capturing New York in the 80s by photographers such as Sophie Bramly, Martha Cooper and Bruce Davidson.
