When the capital falls into step with the frequency of design, a wave of creativity washes over its iconic monuments. For Paris Design Week 2025, from September 4 to 13, theHôtel de la Marine - a former royal furniture repository enthroned on Place de la Concorde - welcomes a new contemporary talent for an in situ work that promises to cause a sensation. After the XXL canopy bed by the Uchronia collective in 2024, it's Jérémy Pradier-Jeauneau 's turn to take over the Cour d'Honneur until the Journées du Patrimoine, from September 3 to 21, 2025, with a monumental installation dubbed Le Labyrinthe.
A stylistic exercise much in demand in the 17th century, this revisited labyrinth unfolds in three chapters: the Cour d'Honneur, the salons d'apparat and the loggia. Galerist and curator Jérémy Pradier-Jeauneau fuses contemporary design, arts and crafts and French heritage, with one watchword: "The labyrinth is a place for fun, laughter and celebration.
Conceived as an immersive and poetic scenography, the installation celebrates French know-how and the myth of Daedalus. It also pays tribute to the history of the Hôtel de la Marine, the first royal furniture repository, through an exhibition of furniture and decorative art objects presented in the honorary salons.
For almost a month, theHôtel de la Marine will be transformed into an arty maze, bringing together historical heritage and contemporary creation. One of the highlights of Paris Design Week 2025!
