The EDF Foundation is organizing a second and new edition of its Dans(e) la lumière event, which combines exhibitions and dance performances. Season 2 runs from November 4, 2025 to January 31, 2026. Find out more about the program.
The EDF Foundation unveils its new cultural season, to be experienced from November 4, 2025 to January 31, 2026. The institution is offering a slightly different format from traditional exhibitions, with a brand-new edition of"Dans(e) la lumière", an event combining plastic art and dance, in a poetic journey full of surprises.
In concrete terms, what can you see in this free exhibition? The EDF Foundation has assembled a number of important works from its own collections. Works inspired by light, by great artists. We discover little-known creations, sometimes never exhibited, by artists such as Man Ray, Raoul Dufy, Julio Le Parc, Gun Gordillo...
Complementing this journey between the works, visitors can admire a variety of dance performances. The dancers invent an original dialogue with the paintings on display, and let themselves be guided by the light to express their world, their art. Depending on the day and time, the dance performances change. You can admire solo dancers, troupes, improvised compositions or extracts from shows, classical or modern dances...
The unusual stage features artists such as B-Girl Kastet & Chris Fargeot / Rubix Kuty Junior, Ballet Preljocaj Junior, Hervé Koubi, Russell Maliphant, Mwendwa Marchand, Mounia Nassangar, Units, Solène Wachter...
Worlds, eras and styles meet and mingle at the EDF Foundation, where artists are united by this creative light. This exhibition should be as surprising as it is original!
Here is the detailed program for Dans(e) la lumière, season 2:
PERFORMANCE
- November 4, 5, 6 & 7, 2025 - 7pm
Israel Galván & Mathias Rassin
Entre les 2, 102
Two choreographic universes that seem to oppose each other enter into dialogue. Israel Galván, a major figure in contemporary flamenco, challenges the codes of the genre. Opposite him, Mathias Rassin, a recognized pioneer of the international hip-hop scene, brings the raw, expressive energy of underground dance. Together, they deliver an intense and unexpected duet, where their contrasting styles intertwine in a bodily conversation full of tension, complicity and freedom.
- November 18, 19 and 20, 2025 - 7pm
Mounia Nassangar & Panda Waack
No meaning, just cheering
With No meaning, just cheering, Mounia Nassangar and Lau Sin Yi, alias Panda Waack, return to a free dance, without justification, where gesture and music unite in the moment. Faithful to the spirit of whacking while reinventing it, this original performance plays with the codes of rhythm and tempo: fast or slow, the beats become matter of intensity, silence and sharing.
- December 2, 3 and 4, 2025 - 7pm
Mwendwa Marchand
Out/Side
Out/Side is an organic, incisive performance rooted in dancehall culture. The three performers navigate through different sensations and body textures, questioning how the practice of movement from the outside can affect creativity and the openness of body and mind.
- December 16, 17 and 18, 2025 - 7pm
Elles jouent pour toi. A conversation between two identities
Natasha and Chris met in 2022 in a Parisian break room. Today, they ask themselves: What do we have in common? What's left of this style that we can still play with, and what can we leave behind? What could we bring to the table that's new and fresh? Having evolved as artists in very different spaces, they both develop unique and powerful styles.
Natasha has established herself as one of the most remarkable and feared bgirls in international battles. Chris, on the other hand, is rooted in his stage work as a performer. And yet, a common vibe. A fusion of their respective approaches emerges, giving birth to a new energy in the form of the break. A physical and spiritual connection between two bgirls.
- December 16, 17 and 18 2025 - 7.15pm
Compagnie KH
Roses
This performance, taken from the show Roses, is a poetic and cinematographic plunge into an imaginary world in search of elevation. It explores dreams, contradictions and risk-taking to invent a future. Between reality and fiction, dance and emotion, this journey invites us to believe in the power of dreams and inner freedom.
- January 13, 14 and 15 2026 - 7pm
Rubix Kuty Junior
Three artists, three personalities, linked by the same urgency to express with the body what is going through their times. Their dance is a living material that transforms itself at every moment. There are no boundaries between styles here: from raw energy to suspended gestures, from improvisation to meticulous construction, together they invent a choreographic conversation in which every movement becomes a statement. A celebration of self-education, sharing and collective invention.
- January 27, 28 and 29, 2026 - 7pm
UnitS
Evolving in the demanding circles of freestyle and battles, seven female dancers unite their voices and bodies to redefine the contours of an underground hip-hop universe still too often perceived as masculine. Driven by raw, sincere and embodied movement, UnitS questions relationships to the body, time and space. Through powerful, sensitive dance, personal stories intersect, women's journeys intertwine, and the energy of the collective becomes the engine of transformation. How can we exist, persist and begin again? UnitS is a manifesto. A vibrant tribute to community, hip-hop culture and the collective power of the feminine.
SHOWS
- November 4, 5, 6, 7, 18, 19, 20, 2025 - 7:30pm
Russell Maliphant
In a landscape
Duration: 30 min - all audiences
In a Landscape, Russell Maliphant's latest creation, is a 30-minute solo in which movement, light and sound intertwine to create a hypnotic, immersive experience. Conceived with composer Dana Fouras and lighting artist Panagiotis Tomaras, the piece reveals Maliphant's unique approach, shaped by the flow, energy and fluidity of gesture. For this show, our creative process began with a phase of research and experimentation, where we explored how various textiles and fabrics could metamorphose under the effect of light and in their interaction with movement.
By changing the highlighted element, direction and intensity, lighting became an active partner to the dancer, shaping atmospheres and directing our perception. By testing the way fabrics moved and captured light, we developed a visual language in which texture, rhythm and shadow became extensions of the choreography. This interaction reaches its climax in the final section, where light, dancer and fabric unite to create an immersive, hypnotic state of silent suspension and contemplation.
- December 2, 3 and 4, 2025 - 7:30pm
Hervé Koubi
Ce que le jour doit à la nuit
Duration: 1h - from 7 years
With Ce que le jour doit à la nuit, Hervé Koubi transforms the belated discovery of his Algerian origins into a powerful choreographic journey. Fourteen dancers blend hip-hop and contemporary dance. Their sweeping movements, supported by long white skirts, create a play of light and shadow on stage, evoking a Mediterranean of intertwined histories and invisible links.
As the play progresses, the light changes from obscurity to brilliant clarity, like a metaphor for revelation, from secrecy to evidence, from confinement to liberation. Light is never a mere décor; it carries the choreographic gesture, prolonging it, amplifying it and giving it a new resonance. It is memory, emotion, structure, language, an invitation to reverie.
- December 16, 17 and 18, 2025 - 8pm
Solène Wachter
For You / Not For You
Duration: 50 mn
With this bi-frontal solo, Solène Wachter offers spectators a singular stage experience. On the one hand, she shares the energy of a pop concert with the audience, and on the other, when the lights go down, we see the negative side of the choreography. Behind the scenes, with a different time and gestures, inspired by the backstage world. Work on the mechanics of live performance, highlighting certain aspects of entertainment.
Light is conceived as a scenography, a simple device that directs the spectator's attention and gives rhythm to the dance. Two light strips are placed on the floor on either side of the stage. Solène turns them on and off according to the audience she is addressing. Sometimes in the shadows, sometimes dazzled by the light opposite, the audience is both observer and set designer. This work of light and shadow creates a triangle between those who watch, those who are watched, and the dance that takes place in between.
- January 13, 14 and 15, 2026 - 7:30pm
Robyn Orlin
And when we change the landscape ... is it with bare hands or with gloves: (remix 2 ) Paris ...
Duration: 20 min - all audiences
An original encounter between the offbeat, poetic universe of Robyn Orlin, South African contemporary dance choreographer, and the energy of young dancers from the Conservatoire. Together, they invent, experiment and question, in a dialogue fueled by commitment and curiosity. This collective creation blends humor, provocation and visual poetry, offering a lively and unexpected look at dance today.
- January 13, 14 and 15 2026 - 8pm
Robyn Orlin
In a corner the sky surrenders for Volmir
Running time: 50 min
In New York, Robyn Orlin is struck by the survival instinct of the homeless. The streets of the Lower East Side traffic in cardboard boxes, especially those large enough to form makeshift shelters, the possession of which is sometimes the subject of violent fights. Since she couldn't find a place to work, she too used large cardboard boxes... and that's how her solo was created, which was subsequently presented in New York, Chicago, South Africa and Australia. After Nadia Beugré and Marta Izquierdo Muñoz, Robyn Orlin entrusts Volmir Cordeiro with the interpretation of this revival.
- January 27, 28 and 29, 2026 - 7:30pm
Angelin Preljocaj / Ballet Preljocaj Junior
Near Life Experience [Extracts]
Running time: approx. 45 min
The young dancers of Ballet Preljocaj Junior take up the spellbinding piece created by Angelin Preljocaj in 2003. Between ecstasy and abandonment, they explore the boundaries of the senses. They cross the space as if between two worlds, flirting with the limits of existence. Ten dancers interrogate the different states of the body in which being fades away: trance, ecstasy, orgasm, ecstasy.
Like a Near Death Experience, in which one returns from a tunnel of light after a passage out of time, Angelin Preljocaj and his young performers propose a similar journey, but resolutely anchored in life. Who's there in the interstices? What do we experience in these in-between sensations, when we are absent from ourselves? Carried by the atmospheric music of the group Air, this hypnotic piece plays with intensity and suspension. In the hollows of our bodies, the dance creates an experience as unsettling as it is visceral.
