On Saturday, November 29, 2025, the Musée du Luxembourg is organizing Nocturne de lumière, an artistic event to be enjoyed from 7 to 11 p.m. Open to all, this free evening event offers a different way to discover the exhibition dedicated to Soulages.
Pierre Soulages, a painter known worldwide for his abstract paintings and his "black-light" technique, is the focus ofa retrospective exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg until January 11, 2026. To mark the occasion, the museum is inviting us to a special evening event, featuring a unique concert.
This concert—also free—is inspired by the works of the French painter and sets Soulages' paintings to music . During the evening, visitors will be able to hear compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, excerpts from Giacinto Scelsi'sSuite No. 8 Bot-Bainspired by traditional Tibetan music, and Black Letters, a piece composed by Pascal Dusapin especially for the 2020 Louvre Museum exhibition dedicated to Pierre Soulages.
The concerts will be held in the museum's reception hall at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Don't be late! The evening event is free and open to the public without reservation, but admission is limited to the number of seats available.
