After several months of closure and renovation work, the Fondation Cartier for Contemporary Art is preparing to reopen its doors... but at a new address. The art venue is leaving Boulevard Raspail to move to Place du Palais-Royal, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, opposite the Louvre Museum.
To celebrate this reopening, the Fondation Cartier is organizing a special weekend: all lovers of contemporary art are invited to attend. On October 25 and 26, 2025, the Fondation is open to the public free of charge!
A free weekend for all, accessible by reservation, to discover this new showcase for contemporary art in Paris. The Fondation Cartier unveils its spaces behind the Haussmannian façade of the former Grands Magasins du Louvre department store. This opening weekend is also an opportunity to visit the Foundation's reopening exhibition, entitledthe General Exhibition (on view until August 23, 2026).
A key venue for contemporary art in Paris, the Fondation regularly organizes major exhibitions featuringFrench and international artists. With this new space in the heart of Paris, featuring mobile platforms and a large exhibition area, the art center hopes to offer more innovative scenographic devices and artistic installations.
Please note that the Fondation Cartier is only free for the first two days of its reopening. And this special weekend is by reservation only. So make sure you don't miss out on this cultural bargain!
