There are 21 of them, hailing from France and beyond, here to share stories of the past, present, and future—personal histories and universal tales. The Espace Monte-Cristo shines a spotlight on female sculptors with its new exhibition titled "Silence Breakers," on view from April 18 to December 13, 2026.
This free exhibition brings together dozens of sculptures and a wide variety of installations. Each artist aims to make their voice heard, to echo the voice of women, and to shed light on shared experiences, overlooked or silenced stories of women across the ages. In her own way, these sculptors are rewriting a collective narrative—a new story of humanity.
The works, created independently, engage in a dialogue that sparks an intriguing conversation. Mythological figures, goddesses, and warriors stand alongside common symbols—anonymous characters sharing stories from a less heroic, often grittier and more violent daily life, yet also more ordinary. The exhibition weaves between poetic, inspiring sculptures, contemplative pieces, and more powerful, soul-stirring installations.
This exhibition features some notable names in contemporary art, including Miss.Tic, Prune Nourry, Andrea Bowers, Jeanne Vicerial, Niki de Saint-Phalle, and Suzanne Husky... The Iranian artist Yosra Mojtahedi has been granted a special creative carte blanche: she invites us into a mystical, spiritual realm where humans and nature coexist and intertwine in a harmonious and intentional dance. Yosra Mojtahedi explores the origins of humanity’s mystery to better question what the future holds.
The Monte-Cristo Space is gearing up to present a powerful and thought-provoking exhibition, which visitors will be invited to experience starting in spring 2026.
