The Musée en Herbe is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise with an exhibition that’s both creative and playful, opening to the public starting April 16, 2026.

They haven’t aged a bit, yet they will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2026! The Pokémon franchise has captivated multiple generations of fans, from video games and trading card games to animated series and a wide array of merchandise. The Musée en Herbe is celebrating this milestone with us by hosting a lively, unofficial exhibition packed with fun and nostalgia.

Starting April 16, 2026, the exhibition Admire Them All pays tribute to this iconic franchise that took the world by storm. Visitors of all ages will have the chance to rediscover their favorite pocket monsters, as well as explore contemporary artworks inspired by the Pokémon saga.

The course of the exhibition unfolds in several stages. We begin, of course, with the origins of Pokémon, taking us back to 1996. The Musée en Herbe shines a spotlight on Satoshi Tajiri, the visionary creator of Pokémon. Visitors can explore a curated selection of the very first trading cards from Japan and France, along with some sketches from the original animated series, and vintage merchandise. Dedicated fans can even try their luck at catching Pokémon on giant Game Boys!

Pokémon fans are well aware: many creatures are inspired by mythology and Japanese folklore. This exhibition explores the cultural influences that helped shape this iconic franchise. Visitors can also see how Pokémon has inspired a variety of contemporary artists and creators: these cultural exchanges create an engaging and sometimes surprising dialogue, offering guests a chance to test their general knowledge... Can you spot references to Van Gogh, Mucha, or Edvard Munch among the Pokémon cards on display?

Decades later, these cultural exchanges continue to influence both pop culture and the Pokémon franchise. By bringing together more than ten artists and street artists, the Musée en Herbe highlights the enduring impact of this iconic saga and its mark on the art world.

Pokémon enthusiasts won’t want to miss this interactive and family-friendly exhibition, designed to delight both kids and adults!
