The location itself speaks volumes about the project's ambitions. Nestled in 12 Passage Choiseul, the Cinko Space is a former 200-square-meter printing press that has been transformed into a reconstructed Japan. The space now features sakura blossoms, paper lanterns, and a traditional Japanese boutique. This covered passageway on the second floor, just steps from Rue Sainte-Anne—often called Little Tokyo for its cluster of Japanese restaurants—creates the perfect setting for an . This installation, designed by the gallery, seamlessly merges with the artist's work to offer visitors a truly immersive experience.
Kaldea is a French street artist whose career is as intense as the worlds she paints. She picked up brushes as a teenager and began taking on large surfaces in 2011, painting containers and façades in Germany before making her mark on the international urban scene, from London to Bangkok, via Zagreb, Munich and Lisbon. Her instantly recognizable style blends Art Deco, futuristic and Asian influences, with a bright chromatic palette designed to spark an emotion at first glance. She hadn’t staged a solo show in Paris for several years, so this exhibition feels distinctly eventful.
The exhibit features around forty works arranged into five thematic narratives that guide visitors from the vulnerability of the human condition to its eventual restoration:

Beyond the works, the exhibition features an Art Shop with limited-edition pieces inspired by Japanese pop art reinterpreted by Kaldea: a brand-new art toy in an ultra-limited run and kawaii goodies created for the occasion.
For the luckiest visitors, a game of chance inspired by Tokyo traditions will grant access to a mysterious secret room opened to only a very small number of groups—a playful wink that completes this tour, turning it into a truly standalone experience.
Behind this project are Julien and Sophie Roussard, leaders of a gallery established in 1948 that has been a pioneer in promoting French street art. Since 2023, the gallery has adopted a mobile approach, setting up in unconventional venues around the capital, such as the crypt of the Église de la Madeleine or La Poste du Louvre. Their work is also accessible online at frenchartcollection.com.
Who is it for? Urban art enthusiasts, fans of Japanese culture, leisurely walkers in the 2nd arrondissement, and families (especially children who love manga are welcome). With free admission, it’s a perfect spot for an effortless cultural break.
The Cinko Space is located at 12-18 Passage Choiseul, 75002 Paris. It can be reached via the south entrance on rue des Petits Champs or from the north on rue Saint-Augustin. The nearest metro stations are Quatre-Septembre (line 3), Pyramides (lines 7 and 14), and Opéra (lines 3, 7, and 8), all within a 400-meter radius.
