On Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21, introduce your family to the sports of yesterday and today at the Château de Blandy-les-Tours in Seine-et-Marne!

Oyé oyé knights! The Château de Blandy-les-Tours is organizing its Olympiads on Saturday April 20 and Sunday April 21, 2024, with a program of sporting events to introduce youngsters to the traditional sports of the Middle Ages. Are you ready?

Medieval fencing, menhir-throwing, Slavic wrestling and archery- budding knights will be trying their hand at a whole host of events at Château de Blandy. At each one, each child will have to stamp his or her little booklet to move on to the next activity! Then, at the end of each day, a show based on the spirit of the Olympic Games (for ages 4 and up) will take place in the château's courtyard.

Throughout the weekend, a food-truck will be serving sweet and savoury crêpes for after-work refreshments. To take part in this great day of medieval sports at the château, there's no extra charge on the usual admission ticket, so expect to pay €7 per adult and €5 for reduced rates, bearing in mind that under-18s pay no admission.

The program for the Blandy Castle Olympics includes

  • medieval fencing (by Semis Sauvages), ages 7 to 15
  • Slavic wrestling (by Les Héritiers de Lug), ages 8 and up
  • tournament and menhir throwing (by Battle of Color)
  • accrovoile pirate (by Lez Accros), ages 5 and up
  • archery (by Daniel Grande), ages 8 and up
  • Les Cinq anneaux perdus (show by Compagnie la Baguette)

Happy Olympics, and may the bravest knight win at Blandy-les-Tours castle!
