The Paris schedule pulses with exciting events and insider tips. Among the October highlights is the National Architecture Days, a cultural event inviting us to delve into the secrets of the treasures of our heritage of yesterday and the projects that will shape tomorrow's heritage.
For the occasion, a belle programmation translates to a superb lineup for all audiences is taking shape across the four corners of the Paris region. This year, from October 15 to 18, 2026, there’s a full slate of workshops, architectural tours, and other special, often free, activities. Whether you’re a enthusiast or simply curious, it’s a date worth marking on the calendar and it promises plenty of discoveries.
What could be more fitting, to enjoy the Journées de l'Architecture à Paris, than a visit to the Journées de l'Architecture à Paris? Head to the Maison de l'Architecture. Located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, this site houses the regional council of the Ordre des architectes d'Île-de-France as well as the Café A, and sits at the heart of what was once the Convent of the Recollets. It’s an ideal chance to uncover this Parisian heritage gem while enjoying programming crafted specifically for the occasion.
Ciné-concert: Hop on board with Axel Nouveau
As part of the National Architecture Days, the Maison de l’architecture Île-de-France, in partnership with the Close-Up Festival, presents two screenings of the cine-concert Monte là-dessus, with piano accompaniment by Axel Nouveau.

Arriving in Los Angeles hoping to make his fortune, Harold works as a clerk in a department store. To draw in customers, he pitches his boss a spectacular stunt: a friend who is an acrobat climbs the façade of the building. But ultimately Harold is the one who must take on the challenge!
To accompany Safety Last! (Monte là-dessus), Axel Nouveau has crafted a solo piano score inspired by early-20th-century American music: ragtime, Broadway musicals, and New Orleans brass. His music follows Harold’s vertiginous ascent and highlights both the film’s humor and its rising tension.

Capitalizing on Off-Site
The 3rd conference L’Architecture sort du bois – season 3 will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will explore the theme: Capitalizing on Off-site.

Children's Parliament
Designed for school groups and envisioned as mini-parliaments, these educational workshops give children the opportunity to explore architecture and debate its key contemporary challenges.
Set within a tailored scenographic setup that echoes the usual features of debate venues—pulpits, microphones, speaking times, a circular audience—these debate workshops offer age-appropriate content and also aim to teach children the importance of listening, exchanging ideas, arguing a point, and engaging in a civic process.

Launch of the book “They Investigate: Portraits of Île-de-France Women Architects #3”
The Île-de-France House of Architecture and the DRAC Île-de-France are launching the third volume of the series Portraits d’architectes franciliennes.
This book continues the approach started with Elles construisent and carried forward with Elles transforment, tracing the paths of women architects in the Île-de-France region—from historic figures to contemporary practices. It highlights approaches that prioritise the existing fabric: rehabilitating, reusing, shaping territorial gains, and valuing co-creation. The portraits convey a commitment to equality and a profession in motion, where expertise and perseverance challenge codes that remain largely masculine.
Elles enquêtent illustrates how these architects are shaping a different relationship with architecture—one that is more attentive to what already exists, more collective, and more egalitarian, opening up new horizons for the profession.
This book, the result of a collaboration between DRAC Île-de-France (in line with its Equal / Diversity label with AFNOR), the Île-de-France House of Architecture, which has been active for several years on gender issues in architecture, and the MéMO association, a movement for equity in project management, will be launched on Friday, October 16, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. during the 11th edition of the Journées nationales de l’architecture.
This event will be followed at 7:15 p.m. by a screening and discussion of the film Out of the Picture (2025), directed by An. Ash Smolar, at the Île-de-France House of Architecture, with the director and Stéphanie Dadour in attendance.
The working group “Women architects in Île-de-France” at the Île-de-France House of Architecture, led by Anne Labroille, includes: Isabelle Michard, Léa Mosconi, Solène Pasztor, Léa Samson, Asma Snani, Clémentine Tran-Sammarcelli, Aurélie Vanhove, and Lou Vincent de Lestrade.

On the occasion of the National Architecture Days, and in the wake of the launch of the book Elles enquêtent : Femmes de l’architecture francilienne #3, the Maison de l’architecture Île-de-France, in partnership with the Close-Up Festival, will host a screening and discussi on around the film Out of the Picture. The session will be attended by its director, An. Ash Smolar, and Stéphanie Bouysse-Mesnage. The discussion will be moderated by Stéphanie Dadour.

Where have the women architects gone? For centuries, they have designed architectural works with passion and talent within a profession long dominated by men. Yet history seems to have forgotten them. Have they been deliberately erased?
Out of the Picture traces these women and their stories. The film probes the mechanisms that kept them from the architectural narrative and explores the means and solidarities they mobilize to reclaim their rightful place.

Guided tours of the exhibition 'Housing, Room by Room'
The exhibition The housing room by room takes visitors on a journey through the dwelling—its history, its present, its challenges—via the rooms that constitute it. By exploring these typologies, charged with spatial, formal, and political questions, the aim is to enter the depth and complexity of housing. The show investigates three moments—historical, contemporary, and prospective—through blank cards given to six curators, each responsible for a room: living room, kitchen, exterior extensions, bathrooms, bedroom, and corridor. From Labussière’s alcove kitchen to Schütte-Lihotzky’s Frankfurt kitchen, from the bourgeois drawing room to the living room, the itinerary builds an atlas of our interior lives, made of façades, plans, elevations, drawings, and fragments. Each room is examined through what it contains: shapes, uses, and objects. By letting periods, typologies, and registers converse, the Maison de l’architecture Île-de-France presents, with this exhibition, a narrative and a debate on the major questions that today shape housing.
