What's on offer for the whole family at the Journées Nationales de l'Architecture 2025 in Paris? Head for the 10th arrondissement, at Les Récollets, for a protection event and Kapla or collage workshops around architecture, on Saturday, October 18, 2025!

The Journées Nationales de l'Architecture are back! On October 18, 2025, Paris and the Île-de-France region will be hosting a festival of cultural highlights dedicated to architecture. From classic heritage to ultra-modern design, everything is here to delight lovers of beautiful stone (and concrete!). What's more, most events are free, so why miss out? Guided tours, creative workshops and surprise events are on the program for the whole family.

As every year, iconic sites such as the Cité de l'Architecture lead the way. But did you know that there are more unusual spots? Focus on the Récollets, a former 17th-century convent tucked away in Paris's 10th arrondissement, near the Gare de l'Est train station. This historic site, to be transformed in 2023 into an international center for artists and researchers, is also home to the Maison de l'Architecture and the offices of the Ordre des Architectes d'Île-de-France.

Please note that registration is compulsory!

The Journées Nationales de l'Architecture 2025 program at Les Récollets :

  • Collage and imagination workshop "My dream building" (for teens and adults) - Saturday, October 18, 2025, 2pm to 4pm
Collage and Writing from the following sentence: "Imagine, tomorrow you wake up in the building of your dreams." Tell us about it. What does it look like, what is it surrounded by, who are the neighbors, what can you do here... Our living environment plays a fundamental role in our well-being and health. Using cut-out and sorted elements, and guided by the theme and the facilitator's precise instructions, each person will create a picture of his or her dream building and situate it in its environment. A space where time is suspended, where imagination unfolds and where there are no limits to dreams. Between concentration and exchange, the workshop offers a creative interlude between generations.
  • Pop-Up creative workshop "Architectures du quotidien: dessins et découpages en volume" - Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10:30 to 12:30 and from 2 to 4:30 pm

This workshop invites children and teenagers (aged 7 and over) to explore architecture through drawing and volume cutting. Participants will be able to imagine and bring to life new architectural forms through creative handwork. Two workshops will be offered during the day, to enable a wide audience to participate.

  • Kapla architecture workshops - Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 4:30 pm

These workshops, designed for children and parents, offer an opportunity to discover architecture through the Kapla construction game. Together, they'll build structures inspired by architecture, from bridges to building facades, castles and landscapes. A fun activity to develop imagination and understanding of architectural forms.

  • Screening of the documentary "Penser l'incertitude" - Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 6pm to 7:45pm

Like a journey through France, its territories and landscapes, the film paints a portrait of a new generation, revealing its shared values and the hopes it carries. Travelling through landscapes, traversing construction sites and visiting buildings, these young professionals bear witness to their work, to the meaning of a delicate commitment to caring for the land and the people who live there.
