Nestled in a verdant setting, the Château de Grosbois and its estate combine historical heritage and equestrian activity, on nearly 412 hectares reserved for thetraining of French trotters. This Louis XIII-style château, with its high French-style grey slate roofs, triangular pediment and façade of brick and blonde stone corners, has been preserved from the follies of the nearby capital, harboring nearly four centuries of history, which can be seen in the salons decorated with furniture dating back to the Napoleonic Empire.

Built on the initiative of Nicolas de Harlay, King Henri IV's superintendent of finance and buildings at the end of the 16th century, the estate was owned by several successive owners until the French Revolution, when it was bought in 1805 by Marshal Louis-Alexandre Berthier, Prince of Wagram and a great dignitary at Napoleon's side, on the latter's orders.
