To all lovers of beautiful green spaces, of exceptional gardens and of wonderful places to stroll, admire the seasonal blooms, and stroll along alleys finely trimmed in the French style: Rendez-vous aux Jardins are back for the 2026 edition of the event, with, on the agenda, a weekend of activities for all ages! Guided tours, discovery walks, creative workshops or musical performances: there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained in the region’s finest green spaces.
The Château de Champs-sur-Marne was built around 1703 by architects Pierre Bullet and Jean-Baptiste Bullet de Chamblain, at the request of Louis XIV's financier, Paul Poisson de Bourvallais. The château boasts sumptuous decorations, including chinoiseries painted by Christophe Huet in 1740, and magnificent furniture signed by the great names of Enlightenment cabinetmaking...
The 85-hectare park, designed around 1710 by Desgot (pupil and nephew of Le Nôtre) was restored in 1895 by Henri and Achille Duchêne. Classically inspired, set in an English-style landscaped park, it is now a pleasant place to stroll, combining nature and heritage.

Following a donation to the French state in 1935, the Château de Champs-sur-Marne became the official residence of the French President in 1959. A total of 20 foreign heads of state, mainly from Africa, stayed there at the invitation of General de Gaulle.
The Château de Champs-sur-Marne is also well known as a film location: 80 films have used its interior and exterior sets, including Stephens Frears' Les liaisons dangereuses in 1987, Patrice Leconte's Ridicule in 1995 and Sofia Coppola's Marie-Antoinette in 2005!
