Grand Siècle Rendezvous 2026: a day in costume and fireworks at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte

It’s a timeless day, a small magical bubble we eagerly treat ourselves to each year thanks to the Domaine de Vaux le Vicomte : Saturday May 23, 2026, it’s the Rendez-vous Grand Siècle! Get ready to travel back to the 17th century, to the lavish fêtes of Nicolas Fouquet, Louis XIV’s Minister of Finances. The lineup for this exceptional Saturday includes period costumes, games and a guided tour of the château.

Welcome to Petit Versailles, a stunning palace that served as the inspiration for the Sun King’s grand castle. Today, we’re transported back to the 17th century for a lively, festive day where visitors are encouraged to don their finest period costumes. On this sunny May day, guests can imagine themselves as nobles of the royal court, enjoying the breathtaking setting of Vaux-le-Vicomte.

A day of Grand Siècle costumes, baroque dances, musketeer shows and horse-drawn carriage rides, for a unique experience of the French art of living at the time of Louis XIV and Nicolas Fouquet.

Children also take part in this festive day, with numerous games on offer in the gardens. Just like the children of the 17th century, your little princes and princesses can have fun admiring the water games in the park's fountains and pools.

Visitors of all ages can witness a musketeers' parade, a falconry display, and a demonstration of Baroque dance. The castle also offers carriage rides and a parade of the costumed. At the end of the day, a gold-and-silver fireworks display lights up the sky, capping this magical experience.

Costumes are not compulsory, but they do help to make the day even more magical... Once again this year, admission is by reservation only. Don't forget to reserve your place in advance!
