The Moulin Jaune and its remarkable gardens
Slava the Clown's Yellow Mill is an incredible place to discover. With its remarkable Alice in Wonderland-style garden, it's a unique spot that's a must-see. Please note, however, that it is only open for special events by prior arrangement. [Read more]
The Moulin Jaune in Crécy-la-Chapelle is one of the most remarkable gardens in the Île-de-France region, and is nothing less than the work of the famous clown Slava. Embark for a day in a marvellous, timeless universe, where everything leads to a journey: the decorated gardens, the artistic installations, the unusual animations... So that you too can blend in with the scenery, a dress code is required and changes according to the theme weekends. A veritable treasure trove of the Ile-de-France region, the Moulin Jaune is an invitation to daydream, linger and share during the few weekends when it opens its doors to the public foran enchanted escapade.
In this Moulin perched beside the Grand Morin, about a half-hour east of Paris, numerous artists and craftsmen, gardeners and cooks, create on site.
Here, the ongoing process of inquiry and experimentation—where nature, creation, and everyday life mingle—keeps turning. It gives rise to a world that is at once real and magical, a rich blend of outsider art, science fiction, and Fellini-esque whimsy. By taking part, whether as creator or visitor, you learn to become the author of your own life, transforming the ordinary into something new and fantastical that reconnects with childhood dreams and the urge to escape.
NATURE, ART, AND DAILY LIFE UNITED
At Moulin Jaune, a creation lab in constant bustle, we house around 630 works of art in varied forms, styles, eras, and from many countries. Throughout the garden, always in harmony with nature, you’ll encounter both contemporary and traditional art.
From April to October, one to two times a month, immersive tours invite the public to become participants, during events with refreshed themes or during poetic wanderings through an enchanted landscape. Dress for the theme, bring a picnic or enjoy our bars, and if you like, bring your games, knitting, accordions... and savor a riverside escape.
For the Rendez-vous aux jardins, the theme celebrates Venice, the Serene City, and Brie, with the dress code: “Gondoliers and Stripes, all the stripes.”
An event organized with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris and in partnership with Crécy-la-Chapelle, the Venice of Brie.
Le programme est mis à jour en fonction des annonces officielles.
