On the occasion of the Nuit des Étoiles 2024, the Breuillet Astronomy Club invites you to stargaze at the town's stadium in Essonne on the night of August 9-10. From 7pm onwards, you're invited to discover the stars through a telescope, for a free introduction to astronomy.
You'll be able toobserve the stars through one of the telescopes available to the public! As for the sky chart, weather permitting, astronomy fans will have the chance to see the Summer Triangle: Vega of Lyra, Altair of the Eagle and Deneb of the Swan, as well as the planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
It's also worth noting that, this time with the naked eye, you'll be able to observe several shooting stars: the Perseid swarm. These shooting stars are caused by the passage of comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle close to the Sun. This passage creates a cloud of debris several tens of millions of kilometers long, which our beautiful blue planet passes through every year.
A good reason, then, to get out and learn all about the stars, but also to discover a photo exhibition that promises to be astral!
