This weekend, take advantage of the sunshine to get on your two-wheeled machine or rent a bike ( cargo, electric, city, all-terrain...): head for the royal city of Versailles, in the Yvelines region, from Paris. What's on the itinerary? An itinerary ofsome thirty kilometers awaits you, with some very beautiful stages, combining large parks and heritage.
We start from Notre Dame Cathedral, where we follow the cycle path to the Montparnasse Tower and then the Place de Catalogne, where the " Promenade des vallons de la Bièvre " (or "coulée verte du sud parisien") begins. Over a dozen kilometers, we follow this pretty bike path to the Domaine Départemental de Sceaux, home to the town's huge park. After a quick tour of the park by bike (and a lunch break if you've packed a picnic), we're off in the direction of Bièvres, still following the Véloscénie!
This time, we pass through Igny and cycle through the Essonne department. We soon arrive in Bièvres, home to Victor Hugo's Maison Littéraire, a large country house with a magnificent 11-hectare park, where the famous poet and writer used to spend his vacations with his family. If you have the time, we suggest you stop off to discover it and have a coffee in the on-site tearoom!

Back in the saddle for the last part of the itinerary: about ten kilometers to go before reaching the town of Versailles and its château. This time, we cross the town of Jouy-en-Josas before finally arriving at the Versailles Chantiers train station and the gilded gates of the château. You've arrived! All in all, there are some thirty kilometers on this sporty itinerary, but it's accessible to all, as long as you pedal at your own pace. You can find theitinerary on the Véloscénie website!
