Paris and the Île-de-France region boast a number of green corridors: the one linking Paris to Massy on the Vallons de la Bièvre promenade (south of the capital), the one offering a bucolic stroll in the 12th arrondissement... There's also a new itinerary, the Végétale, which starts in Créteil, in the Val-de-Marne département.
Formerly known as the Tégéval, La Végétale is now dedicated to pedestrians, cyclists and people with reduced mobility. Originally inaugurated in the 1990s, the route passes through eight Paris-area communes, including Créteil, Valenton, Limeil-Brévannes, Yerres, Villecresnes, Marolles-en-Brie and Santeny, ending in the commune of Mandres-les-Roses. At present, the itinerary issome 20 kilometers long: eventually, the project will link the Parc du Val-de-Marne in Créteil to the Forêt Notre-Dame in Santeny.
