Île Seguin has been adorned in recent years by the Seine Musicale, but its transformation is far from complete. By 2026, the island will also welcome a contemporary art center, a cinema, and shopping venues.

In 2017, Île Seguin, once a small vessel sailing along the Seine near Boulogne-Billancourt, transformed into a hub of culture and creativity with the opening of La Seine Musicale. This island, formerly home to Renault factories and workshops, has regained its original grandeur and now boasts a lush 11 hectares of vibrant projects. Of particular note is the northern tip, where plans are underway to develop a true cultural complex, La Pointe des Arts. This ambitious site aims to feature a contemporary art center, a cinema, and retail spaces, with completion expected by 2026.

This S16/S17 project, developed by the architecture firms RCR Arquitectes and CALQ, aims to blend nature with culture. On the panoramic terrace of the cultural center, visitors will be able to stroll through a garden sheltered from the city noise and along the water’s edge. This part of the island, entirely pedestrian zone, will also feature a 3.5-hectare park dotted with monumental sculptures. Beyond shops, offices, and restaurants, this new space will host a 4-star hotel with 221 rooms offering spectacular views of the Seine.

On the cultural front, the city is unveiling a new spanning 5,000 m², open to everyone. It features a dedicated space for contemporary creation, a bookstore and shop, a café, and also a modern Pathé cinema with 8 screens, including one IMAX. In a few years, the island will become even more accessible by public transport thanks to the Line 15 and might even be served by river shuttles during the Paris 2024 Olympics!
