Nature and venery, rural festivities: here's the program for the weekend of Saturday May 24 and Sunday May 25, 2025, at the Grand Parquet de Fontainebleau, in the Seine-et-Marne département.
You've probably heard it all before: just like Versailles and Rambouillet, the Fontainebleau estate was once a favorite hunting ground for the Kings of France, when they still practiced hunting with hounds. So, every year, a major event is held in Fontainebleau, showcasing not hunting, but all the techniques of dressage (both equine and canine) and the world of these ancient traditions.
The program is packed to the rafters with falconry and archery demonstrations, pony rides for youngsters and a hunting horn competition! In all, over 5,000 dogs are expected to take part in the event, along with 500 trumpeters and a large village of exhibitors.
