This weekend, Saint-Germain-en-Laye will bloom to the rhythm of the Nature Festival 2026, a day when the town opens up like an open-air garden. Repotting, seed exchanges, a flower market, themed walks, basketry, and sheepdogs: biodiversity is invited everywhere this Saturday, May 23. A green interlude where hands go into the soil and the senses come alive.

The samedi 23 mai 2026, the city shifts into chlorophyll mode with a free program designed for families, plant lovers and the curious eager to nurture their green side without stepping off the pavement. Head to the place du Marché-Neuf, transformed for the occasion into an open-air garden where you can hop from one stand to another.

Nature Festival 2026 program in Saint-Germain-en-Laye:

  • From 9am to 6pm – Flower sale
    Agrocampus, Aux Jolies fleurs and Les Serres de Ludivine bring out the petals and gardening know‑how to green balconies, terraces and gardens.
  • From 9am to 6pm – Potting workshop and seed swap
    The Parks & Gardens teams invite young and old to get their hands dirty with a potting workshop, with which you can take home a small plant. The community seed library at the media library is also hosting a seed swap open to all. Suitable from age 4.
  • From 2pm to 3pm and 3:30pm to 4:30pm – “Nature in the City” stroll
    A guided walk to observe the biodiversity quietly thriving in the heart of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. départ from the potting stand.
  • From 3pm to 5pm – “Discovery of wickerwork” workshop
    With Le Temps des savoir-faire, weave plant fibers to make nesting boxes and baskets while learning about local plants.
  • From 9am to 6:30pm – Flower market
    The traditional flower market returns with a selection of plants, flowers and perennials for all budding gardeners.

To the Plasterworks

  • From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.— Herding dogs training demonstration
    Terideal, a partner in ecopasture, will present a demonstration on how shepherd dogs work and how they drive a herd.

Between bouquets of flowers, hands-on soil-work workshops, and a green stroll, the Fête de la Nature à Saint-Germain-en-Laye is shaping up to be the freshest outing of the weekend in the Yvelines!
