Disney Village: restaurants, shops, new experiences... a look at the works in progress

The Disney Village construction site at Disneyland Paris continues to move forward, gradually reshaping the neighborhood. New shops, fresh foodie spots, and future experiences: here’s a look at what’s changing in this iconic stretch of the resort.

Long perceived as little more than a corridor between the parks and the hotels, Disney Village is redefining its dimension at Disneyland Paris. The site is undergoing a gradual redevelopment that began in 2021, part of the massive investment that aimed to evolve the resort in 2018, including the transformation of the former Walt Disney Studios, which became Disney Adventure World on March 29, 2026. And a clear ambition: to thoroughly rethink the village’s look and its offering, across a footprint of more than 40,000 m².

Disney Village gets a makeover

A brand-new visual identity for Disney Village at Disneyland Paris, offering a timeless, family-friendly setting that will be complemented by attractive new shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. During the day, stores and restaurants will attract visitors, while at night, thousands of lights will transform the area into a lively, enchanting place. Promenades around the lake, embellished walkways and other green spaces complete the picture, for a new breathing zone on the resort.

"Our Disney Village transformation project is yet another example of how we continue to reinvent our destination, in line with the major multi-year expansion plan we have undertaken at Walt Disney Studios Park," explained Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris. She continued:"We're excited to enrich Disney Village with new, iconic and timeless concepts that will appeal to a new generation of visitors from our destination hotels and surrounding towns. We look forward to surprising and delighting our visitors with all these new features."

Illuminations, music and art at Disney Village

On December 2, 2022, Greg Ashton, the project's chief architect, will say more, explaining that he was inspired by the Parisian art of living:"Our team wasn't inspired by a single, specific location. It was primarily interested in the active, dynamic lifestyle that our visitors are looking for". Thechallenge," he continues,"is to integrate this dimension into the Disneyland Paris context and make it viable all year round.

He continues,"For Disney Village, our approach is more focused on celebrating the stories and experiences that visitors love so much." He concludes by explaining that this new Disney Village will include"illuminations, music and a series of original art installations that represent our characters and stories in contemporary styles".

Bye bye Café Mickey, hello Rosalie at Disney Village!

The Café Mickey, located near Disney's Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, has been completely transformed into a typically Parisian brasserie run by the Bertrand group. Named Rosalie, this new contemporary brasserie now offers traditional cuisine combining regional diversity and seasonal produce, as well as the best of French art de vivre, in a resolutely modern and elegant setting. The brasserie also offers an écailler.

The 500-seat restaurant opened its doors in December 2023. Table service will be offered, complemented by counter service, with a full range of viennoiseries and products from French bakeries. A terrace overlooking Lake Disney is also planned.

Disney Village offers French cuisine, but not only...

Opposite Rosalie, The Royal Pub opened in February 2023, replacing King Ludwig's Castle. A restaurant in the purest tradition of British pubs, offering the best of English gastronomy! Guinness beef, pies, finger food, fish & chips... A real treat! And of course, the restaurant also offers an English breakfast!

The restaurant remained open during Rosalie's refurbishment, allowing visitors to enjoy lunch in complete peace of mind. The decor is in keeping with the British pub theme, with plenty of reminders of the local London pub.

And in place of Planet Hollywood, which is currently being demolished, there will be a brand new restaurant serving Italian cuisine. With the sweet name of Casa Giulia, it will offer table service as well as takeaway options. It is scheduled to open at the end of 2026.

Shopping revisited at Disney Village

For the next phase, it’s Jean-Marc Mounet this time, the senior project manager overseeing the transformation of Disney Village, who offered a briefing. This is the storefront façade of the Disney Fashion Junior shop: "This will be the first of many new facades along the street. It will also serve as a concept test, meaning we can use it to test and refine our design and construction techniques for the facades to come", he says.

Regarding Disney Style and Disney Glamour, the shops have been welcoming visitors since March 8, 2025, offering fashion, accessories, and jewelry through collaborations, as well as home goods. Inside Disney Style, fans will find plenty of references to Edna Mode, the talented and quirky designer of The Incredibles, especially in the store’s branding and décor. You can even personalise certain items at a dedicated corner, or pause for macarons between purchases.

Regarding Disney Glamour, the shop completes the offering with a stylish range of jewelry, clothing, and accessories, including creations by Pandora and capsule collections from other brands. When you think fashion, you also think home décor! That’s what déco by Disney has been offering since April 2025, with a wide assortment of home products for all interior-design enthusiasts. The lineup includes decorative items, Disney collectible pieces in limited editions, and also the option to print Disney artworks with the Art on Demand service.

Sports fans won’t be left out... Next to the Sports Bar & Lounge, a shop dedicated to football will open at the end of May 2026. Pelé Soccer will offer a full range of jerseys and other sports gear, mirroring the boutiques already found at Downtown Disney and Disney Springs in the United States.

A transformation spaced out over time

"As part of the transformation of Disney Village, we wanted to offer a totally new shopping experience to surprise our visitors," explainsJean-David Marque, Director of Merchandise & Retail at Disneyland Paris. He continues: "We wanted to offer unique and exclusive products, collaborations, personalization and much more".

Regarding the LEGO Store (which opened ten years ago), the shop has been upgraded and, starting April 19, 2025, will feature entry sculptures, popular and exclusive LEGO products for the Disney Village, and interactive installations. And for the Disney Store, which will become Disney Wonder after the works wrap up in summer 2026, the product range will evolve with the seasons and franchises. Expect Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar, among others.

Note that the façade will also echo elements from the franchises mentioned above, and the interior will feature "two stunning central chandeliers, each comprising at least 40 works depicting a host of iconic characters and locations," according to a press release issued on April 12, 2026.

Regarding Annette's Diner, it is undergoing a full renovation, with no changes to the façade or the 1950s atmosphere. Work began on January 5, 2026. In short, this is the perfect chance to rediscover the village and its shops, and to enjoy the moment with family or friends!
