Reviews of TEMPÊTE, the marine dining bar

We've scouted out your future favorite HQ in the 9th arrondissement, where you'll spend evenings with friends enjoying good food, craft beers and watching soccer on match nights!

The name of this new venue, which opened its doors in August 2018? Avis de TEMPÊTE, rue de Rochechouart. With its lovely little terrace and relaxed atmosphere, you'll love having a good time here, Tuesday to Saturday, 5pm to 2am.

Here you can drink French and Parisian craft beers like Bap Bap or the surprisingly dark and tasty Feond from Brasserie de l'Être; but also cocktails made fromFrench spirits like the Suze Tonic (Suze, Lime, Tonic; 6€), the Chartreuse Mule (Chartreuse, Lime, Ginger beer; 10€) or the Sidecar (Grand Marnier, Cognac, Lime; 13€).

But Avis de TEMPÊTE isn't just a bar, it's a dining bar. The small but tempting à la carte menu includes the indestructible planches, of course, but with local and therefore super-tasty products (Prince de Paris ham, cheeses from a local dairy) and a whole range of small dishes, to share with friends or devour on your own!

Tuna mousse with basil (5€), La Belle-Îloise sardines curry/almonds; white wine/aromats/tomatoes; mustard/pepper/garlic (8€), La Belle-Îloise mackerel oil/tomato/sauce ravigote; cured ham/Espelette pepper (8€), a delicious olive and caper thoïonade with pickled peppers (5€), plump accras (6.5€), Fine de Clair oysters (10€) orhummus (5€).

As you'll have gathered, Avis de TEMPÊTE is a land-sea dining bar that's very much focused on the sea, and which intends to help Parisians rediscover the pleasure of nibbling on simple but good dishes.

Bigger appetites, meanwhile, can turn to the chef's suggestions for more substantial dishes, such as croques-monsieur or côte de boeuf-frites, depending on what's available, what's in season and what you fancy. - The day we went, it was whole French duck breast!

With its low prices and tasty dishes, Avis de TEMPÊTE is blowing a force 4 aperitif wind through the 9th arrondissement.
