Owen's: cocktail bar and small food court, Renaissance atmosphere, in the Italie 2 shopping center

On the first floor of the Italie 2 shopping center, Owen's plunges us into a Renaissance atmosphere, combining signature cocktails, a mini food court and a perched terrace. An unusual place that combines royal decor and conviviality for an experience that's both festive and offbeat.

Would you like to step back in time with a cocktail in hand? That's the idea behind an original bar on the first floor of the Italie 2 shopping center, founded by Owen Michaud. Decorated in a Renaissance style, with kings and queens watching over our drinks, this somewhat hidden spot offers cocktails at 12 euros, several types of food as in a mini food-court, but also a perched terrace and a giant screen for watching sports.

Open for lunch and dinner, Owen's is accessible from outside the mall. The tone is set as soon as you enter, where a throne and crown await you, the first of the bar's Instagrammable inserts. To get upstairs, an elevator opens its doors, before you step into a world where everything recalls a bygone era, from the standards to the fleurs-de-lis, via the fake marble fireplace, the chandeliers and the royal paintings, just like a little castle!

Embellished with a touch of modernity, the decor seems perfect for working on social networks, bordering on kitsch, but that's what makes the place so charming, with an assumed theme right down to the names of the signature cocktails and food stalls.

For more than just a bar, it's also a mini food court, with four areas where you can order a meal: Le Banquet, for planks and tapas to share, not forgetting a snail bar, Les Fours du Roi for homemade pizzas, Le Garden if you're more into salads and sandwiches, or Les Dentelles, for galettes and crêpes.

You can sit on one of the velvet banquettes by the fireplace, on the vast outdoor terrace or in front of the giant screen. As for cocktails, there are of course the classics, but above all a dozen creations, with royal names full of promise, such as La Favorite or Be My King, affordable at between 12 and 14 euros, unlike many Parisian bars.

It's hard to choose, because the flavor combinations we chose all look appetizing, and will delight sweet, fruity and floral lovers above all. We opted for Fleur de Givre and Cherry Amour, both delicate and very light, the latter being almost gourmand with its amaretto giving a very pleasant caramelized aspect.

The well-stocked menu provides good food throughout the evening, with dishes that are best shared, some of which are a little pricey, with tapas at 7.90 euros.

That said, it's worth noting that the portions are all very respectable! Our smoked paprika fries weren't very spicy, but crisp and plentiful, alongside generous cheddar bites. After this introduction, we ordered a Marquise pizza (otherwise known as a Margherita) for 9.90 euros, simple but good. As for the Vicomtesse Fumée (13.5€), a buckwheat pancake with lardons, onions, crème fraîche and Emmental cheese, it proved to be very complete and filling.

While it's not great gastronomy, it's impressive in its diversity, which is rare in bars, especially as the products are good and more than sufficient. In short, everything you need to spend a pleasant evening with friends in an unusual atmosphere, to feel like a prince or empress for a drink or a meal!
